A bird’s eye view from the 24th floor of Bridgewater Place in Leeds, of a site and project that we were delighted to be involved with earlier this year.

Engaged as Principal Contractor by Knight Frank LLP on behalf of their client, J. P. Wild undertook a 14 week external and internal refurbishment programme of 3Nr warehouses that included hardstanding areas, M&E and general additional works at the former Pentair Valves site on New Lane / Victoria Road, just South of Leeds city centre.

Subsequent demolition works, which we were not involved with, were also undertaken to part of the site.

As a result, ASDA has since opened its new Merchandising Centre of Excellence (MCE) close to its existing head office. The MCE includes a full-size model store for mocking up different shelf layouts and a state-of-the-art virtual reality lab, where ASDA and its suppliers can test store layouts and construction plans virtually, making sure they get things right for customers from the start.

In addition, the site now boasts a 650-seat auditorium, where ASDA will host conferences for colleagues and suppliers, and 148 colleague parking spaces to ease some demand for parking in Leeds city centre.

As it transpires, at the back of end of 2018 and appearing at approximately 12 o’clock in the aerial image, J. P. Wild is currently on site for BNP Paribas Real Estate at ONE, Leeds City Office Park.
