The Project

J.P. Wild have recently completed the refurbishment and extension works to convert the redundant Rose & Crown public house in Almondbury, Huddersfield into a new C.4,950ft² Co-Op convenience store.

The works salvaged the grade 2 listed building which is located within a conservation area, the building had remained empty for years and had become an eyesore on the village’s main street. We

agreed a layout with Co-Op and a strategy with the structural engineers to enable the conversion of the existing pub into a Co-Op convenience store.

J.P. Wild Ltd signed an agreement to lease the proposed new speculative development to the Co-Op on a 15-year lease with J.P. Wild acted as both the developer and contractor.
