Three years on from our then largest ever awarded job to date, that being the £1.5 million refurbishment of 18,667 sq. ft. of Grade A offices at 120 Wellington Street in Leeds city centre, J. P. Wild has been successful in exceeding that previous milestone and has scaled new heights with its now largest ever awarded project at 3200 Century Way, Thorpe Park Business Park, situated some 9 miles east of Leeds city centre.
It so happens and we are delighted in the circumstances, that we have achieved this new milestone by once again working with the Leeds office of BNP Paribas Real Estate, with London & Scottish Property as Asset Manager to Regional REIT Limited and with essentially the same project team as on 120 Wellington Street.
Situated adjacent to Junction 46 of the M1, Thorpe Park is one of the top business parks in the UK and is currently home to numerous national and international companies. An extensive area to the North of Thorpe Park has been allocated for a major strategic housing development and the area comprises substantial office, retail, leisure, health & fitness, healthcare, hotels and childcare facilities.
The 26 weeks programme of close to £2 million, will see the proposed works to 3200 Century Way comprising the full refurbishment of the building’s common parts and ground & second floor open plan office areas including external works. The specification will form a new reception / lift lobby and core at ground floor, new / refurbished WC cores to the upper floors, new works to the entrance of the building and general further refurbishment works.
Whilst we shall very shortly follow up separately on this particular aspect of the works, this project also sees the first instance where J. P. Wild will be fully responsible for the delivery and procurement of the M&E works, a development that we have absolutely no doubt will enhance and elevate our service offering and standing, as a Principal Contractor, to the marketplace.
